You've been traveling for dance for a while now. You come back to your town's scene, and go out to the weekly dance. What do you see?
A. Newer dancers using rudimentary moves
B. The same old, same old, nothing new to be had

A. Newer dancers using rudimentary moves
Oh man! There's so many new folks here! New dancers mean your scene is growing, and attracting new people who are interested in dancing, and given that both blues and swing dancing are approaching their centennials, that's pretty darn cool! I hope you make some time to dance with those newer dancers, and make them feel welcome in the scene. Be part of what draws new folks out to dances!
B. The same old, same old, nothing new to be had
It's always a strange thing to come back home after traveling, and being exposed to all of those fresh faces and different dance habits. I wonder if you have changed in your travels. I bet you have. I bet your dancing has improved in an interesting way that will help you have fun with some of those same old faces in a brand new way.
C. A waste of time and energy
Oh, darling! Maybe you need a bit of a break, if you feel like your energy is so precious that just attending the dance is too much. But maybe not. It's possible that you need just the opposite: to throw yourself into your local dance and invest a bit more of yourself into it. Have you ever volunteered for your local dance? Do they need door folks? DJs? Maybe they need some interesting creative direction. Look to yourself and see what you need, but maybe that's the ticket.
D. A bunch of familiar faces having fun
Isn't it nice to be home? Where the folks know you already, and you have inside dance jokes? It's great to dance with people that you know will laugh off your weird new variation that you're testing out. Also, man, catching up with your friends is so lovely! How else would you hear that there's a cupcake bike ride coming up? Dancing locally is so fantastic, isn't it? ;)
